September results

I have been far too busy lately and have not been able to keep up to date with all the great news I have received. Here they finally are, hope I didn’t forget too many of them!

Marjukka & Sentti (EW Extra Terrestrial) ran a clean run on a jumping course in Nokia. They were placed 2nd in class and received a jumping-CC. A couple of weeks later they ran a clean run on a class 3 agility course in Lempäälä. They received their 3rd agility certificate, and Sentti now has all the required agility results for the Finnish Agility Champion title. One breed show still to attend to ;)

Reetta & Höyry (EW Ewe-No-Me) won a class 3 agility course in Oulu. On the next day they were placed 2nd on an agility course with a clean run.

Misa & Tuumis P. (EW Expect the Unxpected) ran a clean run on a class 3 agility course in Helsinki.

Marko & Split (EW Sunborn) won a class 3 agility course in Seinäjoki. The second course of the day was also won by Marko, this time with Hertz (EW Soulmate).

Esa & Siisti (EW Tru Luxury) were competing in Senior Handler Finnish Championships. They won the first of two courses and were placed third in the final results.

Hertta & Manya (EW Gimme All Your Lovin’) ran their first clean run in class 3.

Tuire & Kofi (EW Game On) passed the behaviour test. Kofi got his first title: BH.

Paula & Casey (EW CSI) were competing in the Finnish Championships of Rally Obedience. They received 90 points and the title RTK4.

Era & Mooli (EW Eat My Dust) won a class 1 agility competition in Kirkkonummi and moved up to class 2.

Kati & Daami (EW Girl Power) won a class 1 agility competition in Maalahti. Kati also won one of the class 3 courses with Daami’s mom Gimma (EW Still Lovin’Ewe).

Four of the puppies from our M-litter by Nero (Hakukaaren Nero) and Siisti (EW Tru Luxury) have been to their official x-rays:

Finnish Team Tryouts 2014

The Finnish national team tryout competition took place in the beautiful Rovaniemi in Northern Finland a couple of weeks ago. It was exciting to get to compete in this exotic environment. You could see reindeer walking down the street near the competition arena!

Qualifying to this competition is not easy (you need to have done minimum 7 clean runs during the past year including a double-0 and a win) so it was a proud moment for me to see that we had so many dogs from the Eyewitness team were competing in class large of 114 dogs!

After two courses on Saturday, the following dogs & handlers qualified to compete also on Sunday: TiuTau & Marjo, Split & Marko, Wingo & Sari, Soihtu & Anna-Maija, Wiu & Pasi and Loox & Jenni.

In the final results there were four Eyewitness dogs in the top 20! Anna-Maija was placed 9th with Soihtu, Pasi & Wiu were 12th, Sari & Wingo were 19th and Marko & Split 20th.

Huge congrats to everyone, you all did some pretty nice runs! Special congrats to Anna-Maija & Soihtu who were just amazing during the whole weekend, I am so proud of you <3

A big congratulations also to our friends and OneMind Dogs handlers Janita & Fu, Raisa & Repo, Tuulia & Pirtu and Jaakko & Zen for making it to the Finnish team! So very cool!

Finnish Agility Championships 2014

Finnish Agility Championships were held last weekend in Tampere. SM-uutiset suomeksi

There was a big competition on Friday before the Championship courses. Pasi & Wiu (EW White-Hot) were placed 4th on an agility course of 120 dogs. The jumping course of 85 dogs was won by Misa & Tuumis (EW Expect The Unxpected ) who also qualified to the National Team Tryout competition that will take place in Rovaniemi next week.

Saturday was the day for the Team competition. The Individual Championship competition started on Sunday morning. There were 211 large dogs competing. Eyewitness team was represented quite well in this event, 10 Eyewitness dogs and two or our own, imported dogs, had qualified to compete:

The first course was a jumping course, judged by Katarina Virkkala. 50 best dogs qualified to the finals from this course, among them six Eyewitness dogs: Wiu & Pasi, Hertz & Marko, Split & Marko, Wingo & Sari, Tuumis & Misa and TiuTau & Marjo!

The challenging agility course was judged by Alen Marekovic. Both Wiu & Pasi and Tuumis & Misa did very well on this course and

Tuumis & Misa were placed 6th.

Pasi and Wiu have been constantly doing amazing performances and great results this year. Pasi has the ability to move amazingly well on courses and he is very talented in making rhythm changes. He is also an extremely accurate handler who keeps up the contact to his dog all the way through the course. This team is working beautifully together, we are so very proud of them!

Heartiest congratulations to Pasi & Wiu and Misa & Tuumis for an amazing weekend, and everyone else who did some super runs! Special congrats also to our dear friend Jaakko who won the silver medal with Chi!

Agility @ Helsinki and Pyhtää

Pasi and Wiu (EW White-Hot) were competing last Sunday in Helsinki. They ran clean on two agility courses in a row and won them both, wow!

Misa and Tuumis P. (EW Expect The Unxpected) ran a clean run on an agility course in Pyhtää, being 2nd in class.

Tuumis P.’s “double-triple-0”

Misa and Tuumis Pumpula (EW Expect The Unxpected) were competing in Helsinki last Saturday and in Mikkeli on Sunday. They ran clean on ALL six courses of the weekend, a triple-0 on both days! You don’t get much more reliable in making results than this.

Agility @ Hyvinkää

The last competition before Christmas took place in Hyvinkää. Esa and Siisti (EW Tru Luxury) ran a clean run on the first course of the day. They were placed 2nd in class. Misa and Tuumis Pumpula (EW Expect the Unxpected) ran clean on the second course being placed 3rd in class. The jumping course was won by Pasi and Wiu (EW White-Hot).

Misa and Tuumis Pumpula ran a clean run today on a jumping course in Helsinki. They were placed 2nd in a class of 55 dogs. Tuumis received her third jumping certificate. She is now a double champion

Finnish Team Tryout competition

The most respected Finnish agility event took place on July 20th – 21st in Seinäjoki. 121 large dogs and their handlers were entered to the qualification competition along with 95 medium and 116 dogs. To qualify to this event you need to have run at least seven clean runs (at least one double-0 among them) in class 3 during the last year and won at least one competition.

On Saturday the competition started with two courses. The results of the Saturday courses determined which dogs got to continue on to compete also on Sunday.

The first course was a jumping course. Misa & Tuumis Pumpula (EW Expect the Unxpected) ran clean and were placed 11th, Marko & Hertz (EW Soulmate) were 13th. Next course was an agility course. Pasi & Wiu (EW White-Hot) ran a beautiful run and were placed 4th. Jenni & Loox (Jakovall Oh You Pretty Thing) were 7th, Marko & Hertz (EW Soulmate) 13th. All these teams qualified for Sunday as did Pasi & Figo (EW Crime Suspect) and Marko & Split (EW Sunborn).

On Sunday’s first agility course Misa & Tuumis ran a very fast clean run being placed 4th in class. Jenni & Loox were 9th. Pasi & Wiu were 5th on the jumping course of the day.

The placements in the total results were as follows:
Pasi & Wiu 13th
Misa & Tuumis 14th
Jenni & Loox 16th
Marko & Hertz 21st

Congrats everyone for some very nice runs in a tough competition, especially Pasi and Misa! Huge congrats also to all my LAW team mates who had a very successful weekend!

Ylöjärvi, Varkaus and Kokkola

Misa and Tuumis P. (EW Expect the Unxpected) were competing in an international competition in Ylöjärvi a week ago. They ran clean, won the class and received a CACIAG. Huge congrats!

Anna-Maija was competing with her girls in Varkaus last Saturday. She ran a clean run on an agility course with Soihtu (EW Wildfire), they were placed 2nd in class and Soihtu received her first agility certificate. Anna-Maija and Stara (EW Celebrity) ran a double-0. Their placements were 3rd and 4th. Super cool, congratulations!

Marko and I were competing in Kokkola yesterday on two courses. The first one was an agility course of 57 dogs which was won by Marko and Split (EW Sunborn). Loox (Jakovall Oh You Pretty Thing) and I were placed 2nd. The jumping course (53 dogs competing) was won again by Marko, this time with Hertz (EW Soulmate). Marko was placed 3rd with Split, Loox & I were 5th. Also TiuTau (EW Eavesdropper) and I ran clean.

Tuorla and Purina competitions

Last weekend there was a three day agility event in Tuorla. On Friday Misa and Tuumis P. (EW Expect the Unxpected) ran clean on an agility course and were placed 6th in a class of 75 dogs.

Esa and Siisti (EW Tru Luxury) ran two clean runs during the weekend. They won the agility course and were placed 4th on the jumping course. Also Solveig and Flamma (Cedar Flame for Eyewitness) ran clean on the jumping course.

Pasi and Wiu (EW White-Hot) ran a double-0 last Wednesday in Helsinki. They were placed 2nd in both classes of about 50 dogs.
